Excellent. It's hard to accidentally get it to fire, but when it fires it's so loud my cat hits the ceiling. I plan to use it in case of animal attacks while hiking, so that seems like a good sign. I also clip it to the front of my purse so when I'm in the parking lot I always have it to hand.
