I am using a pen display that requires the HDMI port on my M1 Mac Mini. When I had the Intel Mini, I also had a 2k and an FHD monitor, giving me a total of three monitors. But when I switched to the M1 I lost that extra monitor and it really wasn't that bad but 3 monitors wasn't enough for me to be able to access files without doing all the hide drag and show dance too must. This monitor solves that problem by essentially giving me three monitors again. I have my main app on the bottom half and my Finder windows on the top half, and I can easily drag them between them. But there are problems. 1) This monitor is like two **21"** 2k monitors. My 2k used to be 24" so everything is a bit smaller. 2) Due to 1 I have the resolution down to 2048 x 2304 instead of the full 2560 x 2880 adjusted to keep it from being so small I really wish this monitor was the size of 2x 24" 2k monitors. 3) You have a menu bar and a dock that appear so far apart depending on how you place them. I know you can have two ports to make this monitor work like two displays, but you can't do that with the M1. However, what I love is that I can also connect my Apple TV and switch it to PBP so I can have the TV and my computer in the same place. The problem, however, is that the Mac changes the primary display to a 16-inch pen display *every time*, and if I want it to work the way I want it, I have to go to the display *every time* - Fiddle around with settings. * I would also like this monitor to allow me to connect my Apple TV's HDMI port to the top instead of the bottom by default. I'm still not sure how much I like this monitor, but for everyday work, the extra space is hard to give up. Side note: I ditched their handy ergo arm in favor of a vertical VESA stand so I can push the monitor back as far as possible. I love this Ergo mount - it's slim - but it just doesn't work for me. As for buying a refurbished Revain, I got a monitor that was marked as the lowest Revain standard, but it's almost perfect. There's a small patch of dead pixels on one edge in the shape of a finger, but that doesn't bother me. The cables are good, the monitor is good. Surprisingly good quality.
