Well made pump with long hose but a few minor imperfections

Overview: ** Bike Pump, Bike Tire Pump with Gauge, 160 PSI High Pressure Bike Floor Pump / Fits Schrader and Presta Valve Types - Air Pump for Bikes and Other Inflatables (bike tire repair kit) **Advantage: - The main pump body is metal and should last a long time - The long hose allows for easy access to the valve stem no matter where it is (top, bottom, side, etc.) - Head unit features both Presto as well as Schrader, so there are no parts to swap in the head to switch between valve types - Easy to read pressure gauge - Metal foot platform prevents the pump from moving during use - Small compartment for adapters is handy so they don't get lost - Pleasant bonus - the pipe termination set included. The bad side: - The locking lever requires quite a bit of force to engage and disengage. - Sometimes the pump, when locked onto the Schrader valve stem, does not seal well and needs to be re-fitted. Conclusion: Since I started cycling 35 years ago I have had the opportunity over the years to use many pumps to inflate tires on many types of bikes. Some pumps are very difficult to use, others make the process quite easy and without incident. This Spomchery pump sits right in the middle. I really like the metal body (it won't bend or flex) and the fact that I don't have to swap parts in my head if I need to fill up the tire from time to time. with Schrader valve (most of our bikes have Presto valves). But on several occasions my first attempt to properly attach the head to the valve (Presto type) failed and I had to remove and reattach it a second time. If it fails, it either lets air through another hole, or simply doesn't push air into the bath. I suspect it has to do with how far the tip of the valve goes into the head, but haven't confirmed that's actually the problem. stop lever and release it again when filling. I'm hoping this will loosen up over time and be used more often as it's definitely a bit difficult to work with at the moment. Overall this is a pretty good pump and the price is reasonable considering the metal construction. Without the two issues above, this would be a 4.5 star pump, especially for only $30. At the moment I rate it right in the middle - 3 stars.
