I'm not a lens guru and don't have a lot of budget so these lenses are perfect. From DSLR shots to Black Magic Cinema Camera, I was at least familiar with how these lenses worked. The first thing I shot with them was a wedding and they were the only lenses I used on my camera. It takes some getting used to working with all prime lenses, but at t1.5 it's worth not zooming in as the lighting isn't always the best. I'd recommend buying ultra-wide lenses if you're shooting with a crop sensor like the BMCC, as it more than doubles the focal length of these cameras (which is roughly equivalent to 50mm). The lenses are good and heavy, indicating good build, and the focus is smooth. I haven't tried them with Follow Focus yet, but I expect to do so in the near future. The click-off bezel is also a nice feature. This adds a smoothness to exposure changes as you shoot that you can't get with a regular DSLR lens, but it can also be a problem if you're not careful, as the aperture ring is easy to hit. This is by no means a complaint, just an observation and a problem that I attribute to user error and should get used to. Overall I really like these lenses and would recommend them to anyone on a budget. They are what they are, and what they are is an accessible tool for telling your story. I'm sure there are gear nobs out there who wouldn't approve of this, but I feel like gear nobism stems from a lack of vision and skill.
