Very easy to install. It only lasted a few minutes. It didn't come with instructions, which I knew before I bought it. Just go to Youtube to find the installation video. I replaced the stock (plastic) cam lock with this steel lock and it should last a very long time. This will ensure you don't lose the RV hot water heater cover while driving. Initially, the shaft of this new camlock did not go through the hole from which the stock camlock was removed. All you have to do is simply use a pair of pliers and squeeze the tip of the stem so it goes through the hole. Then attach the thumb tab to the shaft and that's it. BTW the thumb protrusion is thinner than the OEM plastic and should easily fit through the slot on the water heater cover.
