Replacing an old radiator was one of the first things I did to my 2000 Toyota 4Runner LTD after buying it with 232,000 miles on it. The OEM cooler still went strong. So it was preventive maintenance. The Koyorad A1998 was recommended as a replacement on the largest 4Runner forum, so I went with it. Straight screw, no fuss, no problem. When replacing the radiator I also changed the red coolant to Toyota red (50/50) and also replaced the upper and lower radiator hoses, radiator cap, thermostat and gasket, all OEM. I'm happy to report that after over 2 years and 16,000 miles the radiator is running great, no leaks, no cracks, no problems. I don't expect it to last as long as the OEM, but with regular coolant flushes I'm hoping to get it 300,000 miles before going ahead and replacing it again just to be on the safe side.
