Has some problems but good price

(the first part refers to the previous model from September 2020). The good news is that it works. I have a Linux server, Mac Mini, Macbook Pro and SurfaceBook and I can switch between them. I've had to fiddle with some power saving settings on laptops and use an Apple-branded USB-C to HDMI/USB dongle; The third party I usually use didn't work with it. The main things to look out for are: - Power - As some have pointed out, this thing is powered from the USB ports which can cause problems. Everything is fine in my case - USB hub - the connectors are blue, which indicates USB3, but elsewhere it says it's USB2. I don't know what to believe. (Update: it's USB2) - the Apple Magic Trackpad has some issues with it and I have to unplug and plug it in again from time to time (update: almost every time) - it does NOT support 4k@60Hz; it runs at 30hz - i tried two different webcams connected to the hub and none worked. The computers saw the devices but did not receive the video stream. This includes the old Creative Live! Cam, which should not have such a high bandwidth. I tried using a powered USB3 hub between the switch and the camera to make sure it wasn't a power issue, but that didn't help. I don't have this problem with USB headsets; they seem to work fine, but only on a USB port; my device had a defective usb port and only one of them was usable. So it works if you need to switch between computers if you're happy with 30Hz and some USB devices don't work. Side note: I suspect this is one of those devices where they replaced something else after making some positive reviews because I was asked to rate thickness and warmth on review. Update after another month of use: - USB2 connectors, although they are blue - I couldn't get this to work with any USB webcam or wireless USB headset - didn't work well with a USB3 hub; I had to buy a USB2 hub - with a USB2 hub it works with a Logitech USB headset but still doesn't work with Logitech USB wireless headsets (which come with their own USB dongle) or with USB cameras - sometimes the keyboard loses and to reset it you have to turn it off and on again. As my device only had one usable USB port, I connected a USB hub to that port. Since I want to charge devices and the output power of the KVM port is not sufficient, I bought a powered USB hub. This prevented the KVM from turning off when the power switch was flipped. When the keyboard stopped working, power cycling meant unplugging all USB cables (front and back) and then plugging them back in, which was PITA. It took me a long time to figure out that the powered hub was preventing me from doing a simple reset. I reported this to the seller and he sent me a replacement unit. This is the November 2020 version shown here and has a remote control. Worse when connected to a powered hub; It has the same quirk of the power button and doesn't send any mouse or keyboard signals at all. I suspect the latter is related to the powered hub, but haven't determined that this is the issue at this point, so haven't tested if it works when using the unpowered hub (I'll do that next time I'll try to report). The seller has refunded my money at this point so don't blame the seller here.
