If you plan to attach this tablet holder to something vertical, note that the rotating base cannot be tightened to prevent rotation, so the Gravity dictates this first The hand of the support section goes down. I attached it to a vertical square table leg and it worked fine but not perfect. Currently, it is intended to be mounted on a horizontal tabletop and used as a magnifying glass. I use the iPad Air's built-in magnifier, and when I can't read the fine print, I hold the object under the iPad's camera lens and see it magnified on the screen. This holder hangs your iPad at the right height and angle to hold something underneath. I do very little typing or pressing on the screen, but when I do it shakes a bit, the mount isn't tight. I chose this tablet holder because I have a stand from the same company and am very happy with it. The same goes for this holder, I am very happy with it.
