Somehow I overlooked that my Surface Pro 5 SSD cannot be updated. Thinking I was doing something clever, I removed the screen and damaged the cable connecting the digitizer and the screen. I cursed myself for not doing proper research before damaging a perfectly good new Surface and confirmed I hadn't damaged anything else. After some searching I found and ordered this replacement LCD screen based on the part number of my original screen. The screen arrived quickly and was neatly packaged. I had to remove the two original cables connecting the screen to the motherboard and after that I tested the screen and made sure everything worked as intended. I then trimmed the supplied adhesive and reinstalled the screen. I am writing this review on a freshly installed screen. Two small points that would otherwise have given the review 5 stars: 1.) The screen had to come with a cable to connect to the motherboard. 2.) Adhesive tape had to be cut to fit. Otherwise I am completely satisfied with the screen. I will post an update in a few months to confirm the screen is still working.
