(updated 7/30/2021) Having used this tent on several camping trips I am delighted and amazed at the negative reviews. This is a great Boundary Waters canoe tent for large groups when you need multiple tents and campsites. This tent easily sleeps five with plenty of room and is perfectly capable of accommodating six. Easy to set up, exceptionally tall, good in storms, this is a great tent. Don't trust the skeptics. I am proud to include this in my North Face, Eureka and REI tents. ------ The maker of this tent (formerly Ultimate Survival Tools) appears to have experienced a change in market focus along with a new owner. The last few days. This is clearly a high end tent and having recently received some camping products from ust (tent and sleeping pads) I think ust is working to compete with premium camping gear manufacturers - North Face, Sierra Designs, Kelty , Mountain Hardwear). Haven't camped with this tent before so this part of the review will have to wait for the camping weather (and I hope to be back with an update after camping) so these are just initial thoughts. And my first impression of this tent, as well as other things that I have, is very positive. They will earn a place in the market if they continue to produce quality devices. Here are the details of this tent: 1) Big deal: This is a single wall tent. No raincoat. I now have a North Face all season tent with a rain cover and waterproof inner wall, but most of my tents have a rain cover over the inner mesh. This tent doesn't have those two walls BUT it has plenty of room for ventilation with large vents on both sides. Will those large built-in vents cause leakage? Maybe. I think the tent trades the security of a separate raincoat for the ease of use and lightness of a single wall tent. The time will show. 2) Good Materials: I'm impressed with the materials. Good, solid prices. Thick fabric. I know tents and I like the design of this tent. I will test the design in actual use of the tent. But the materials are of good quality. Good aviation aluminum poles 3) Finally, a curiosity: This tent is advertised as a car camping tent. But it's big enough to sleep four people, and as a four-person tent, it's perfect for outdoor camping. If you're traveling with four people, it's certainly no bigger or heavier than two medium-sized three-person tents, or even two two-person tents. I love camping in the Boundary Waters canoe area and I think this tent will do the trick there. We sell a very comfortable self-inflating sleeping pad that is too big to take into the wild, but this tent really shouldn't be ruled out for use in the wild - except for hiking, of course.
