I purchased these curtains specifically for their light blocking capability and so far, I am pleased with the purchase. The stitching is excellent. The quality of the material is also very nice, it is a relatively thick polyester material which has a nice sheen to it, so dust can be wiped off quite easily.As others have noted, they are wrinkled out of the box and they do stay that way, but personally, I don't mind.Also, the curtains do not block out 100% of all light. Direct sunlight does penetrate the satin weave and will appear as illuminated specks on the the curtains when direct exposure does occur. However, the curtains still reduce the luminosity of direct sunlight to a significant degree. Keep in mind that light will also enter the room around the curtain edges. Overall, these curtains are well made, effective and I would recommend them to others.
