This item looked great on paper. The mount that slides easily over the LCD screen, the phone's position, and the small sunglass case all looked exactly how I wanted them to. But in the end I was a bit disappointed. First of all, the installation was very easy, this is probably the only thing that met my expectations. It slid over the LCD on my 2018 Model 3 with no issues. The felt padding in the mount gave me peace of mind that the back of the display wouldn't get scratched. As for my complaints... the mount is very wobbly. Not enough for my phone to fall out, but enough for the vibration to make looking at my phone and touching the screen pretty annoying. I was expecting a much more stable mount. Position-wise the phone is in a decent place to reach, and tilting it properly doesn't block the switch display (PRND). ASSUME YOU HAVE THE RIGHT SIZE OF PHONE, which brings me to the following criticism. I don't know why more people haven't mentioned what kind of phone they use. I have an iPhone 12 in a pretty thin case. In my opinion this is the closest thing to the ideal mounting size, perhaps a slightly wider and shorter phone would be better. If the phone is narrower, the holder will not hold it in place. If the phone is much wider, it will be much more difficult to slide it in and out of the holder. If the phone was a little higher, it would shake even more. If the phone was thicker, it wouldn't stick to the mount either. In general, the mount is not very versatile. And while my iPhone 12 and case come closest to an ideal phone size for this mount, overall it's still pretty far from ideal in absolute terms. It just seems like it could be very safe. I will say that the small notch at the bottom of the mount really makes it easier to route the charging cable. For 30€ I expected a lot more. However, it wasn't so expensive that I'm going to send it back. This is convenient and much better than leaving the phone in the tray way below the Tesla display. However, I will pursue a more ideal phone mount solution.
