Unreliable torque readings

Ready to use I put this torque wrench on top of a torque meter used by airlines to calibrate torque wrenches. The torque wrench was set at 18 ft lbs and as you can see it ranges from 13 to 9 ft lbs. A beep followed by a continuous tone tells the user when to stop. Tested several times, see measured values. The fourth reading is about 16 ft-lbs, but I went over 18 ft-lbs and the torque meter read about 22 ft-lbs. As for usability. Setting the desired torque is clumsy in my opinion. Press and hold the +/- button to quickly change the settings up or down, which is normal. Fine-tuning can get frustrating. Press once, it beeps and moves one digit. Press again, it beeps and doesn't move at all or jump 20 numbers. If accuracy is an issue then this tool is not for you. As much as I'd love to start repairing my Harley rocker arms, these tolerances don't fall within the 18-15 ft lb range I work with, so I'm returning this tool.

Pros
  • ✅ RELIABLE - ISO 6789 calibrated, powered by 2 AAA batteries for 55 hours of use, has a reversible ratcheting head for either direction rotation and measures clockwise or counter-clockwise torque.
Cons
  • Very expensive
