and very durable. Well built

This tripod has been protected and packaged to perfection and comes with a nylon drawstring pouch. It had a strong smell of glue when it arrived (it was probably used for the foam padding and possibly the plastic inserts in the legs) but the smell has gone since I've been using it for the past few days. The tripod itself is made entirely of metal and is very durable. Well put together. The legs are telescoping by twisting the base of the foot, stretching, and then twisting the other way to lock all sections. I would have preferred screw cuffs, but that would have made it heavier and not as compact. This method is much more convenient as I can open each leg in 1 second. The weight capacity isn't as great as a larger tripod, but it's definitely strong enough to hold my Sony a6000 and telephoto lens at any angle I set with ease. All 3 legs have a foam section. The legs were a little stiff when I first got the tripod, but an Allen key is included so you can loosen them to your liking. The neck is also retractable and actually has a collar that tightens with screws and has a rubber grip. It rolls smoothly and holds the neck tight. My hardware has never slipped after tightening. The lower part unscrews from the center column and allows you to pull it out and flip it. (the lower part is also made of metal). I photographed with my camera as close to the ground as I wanted. hangs upside down from a bowed head. This tripod has so many uses that it comes in very handy. The head unscrews completely to reveal a 1/4" screw, so the head will not fit another tripod with a 3/8" screw unless you purchase an adapter. But it's perfect for me as it can be perfectly mounted on my pico doll when I need it. The head itself is smooth. Once you mount it on a tripod, it rotates very smoothly. Also, the ball feels pretty smooth and can be adjusted to move more freely or more rigidly. Adjustment knobs are smooth as silk. The head just works, I have no complaints. The handle of the adapter plate has a level on the side. This is useful when shooting vertically. All the knobs are knurled metal with no rubber, which I like better as it gives you a better feel for the knob when fine-tuning. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. This is a very solid tripod in a very small form factor, and it does what it says on the tin very well. (I can't comment on its durability as it's only been a few days since I bought it, but I'll update this review if anything changes.) It's relatively light. I could imagine traveling with minimal impact and peace of mind with this tripod. Buy it if you need a tabletop tripod or just a tripod to complement your larger tripods in the field. It won't "replace" a full-size tripod, but it certainly fills the gap and works wonders in a desktop studio. To be honest, if this one proves to be as durable as I think I'll probably buy another one.
