The thick ironing board cover is well made. I always "stitch" cases on top of each other to get a soft, plump thickness, so there are about 6 cases under this case. As such the fit is a bit tight meaning it would fit perfectly on a previously bare board. Installation was easy: first place the elastic cap on the top of the board, smooth out the wrinkles, pull it back, check for centering, then stretch around the back and under the end of the board to position it. Smooth out the wrinkles from the center of the cover to the edges. Centered according to taste, join the two rubber bands on the sides to hold the lid in place. Quick, easy, and no dangling shoelaces (because there aren't any to begin with!) My ironing board is tucked away in the closet, ready to use. I was surprised by the calm I feel when I open the closet door and the first thing I see is this lid: I didn't expect such a privilege.
