It works! I had squirrels in my firewalls. I live in a townhouse and I know they went through a hole between the roof and the gutter. I heard scraping noises in the walls and it seemed like they were about to make a hole and come out! The first night I received the unit I was too tired to put it in the attic. I thought this would be the best spot as it is closest to the roof. But out of curiosity - just to see how far its repellent can penetrate - I placed it in the top corner of my wall, closest to the ceiling where I can hear squirrels coming in. I still heard some fuss and movement for the first 10-20 minutes, but I think it was their reaction. However, the rest of the night passed in silence! I sometimes hear them on my neighbors' rooftops, but they don't seem to be getting any closer. It was so quiet it's an obvious difference! I really didn't expect it to work depending on where I put it, so the denoising effect should be at a fairly high frequency. You can hear it making very small crackling noises and then a flash of light as it goes through several stages of these patterns. But that's not a problem, you rarely notice it in a room, you just have to put batteries in it and you're done!
