Review on 🔊 NFC-Enabled Bluetooth Audio Receiver for Sound System by HomeSpot by Pete Norris

I have some 3.5 foot floorstanding speakers for a year old stereo that is gathering dust. When we last moved we packed the stereo and speakers and I kept wondering why we don't just give them out as a gesture of goodwill or donate them to something more than just dust collectors. I decided that I would need an amplifier to push noise out of these speakers since the stereo they are connected to has an amplifier. So I decided to give this HomeSpot NFC Bluetooth Audio Receiver a try as I bought an amp that gets Bluetooth and is within my budget. I needed a Y jack with a 1/8" plug to connect this HomeSpot and an RCA end to connect speakers. I was very impressed when I heard the sound from both speakers coming out of my phone. a little less than my phone's full volume and the speakers distort the audio, but it's loud enough that you'd have a hard time holding a conversation with someone in a 25 x 40 foot room. My family still doesn't like it too loud and I don't want to advertise my stereo for the next Five Finger sale, so I saved over $150 on an amp with this little unit. randomly lose connection every now and then. I've had this device since March 2016 and have lost connection 4 times so far (today is the end of May). If the connection drops, there is no sound at all. The phone is still connected to the device, so no sound is sent to the phone speakers, but the device does not play any sound through the speakers. I have to completely unplug the device from the wall to restart it, turn off Bluetooth on my phone, and then plug everything back in. It's a bit of a drag when you just want to sit and relax and listen to some deep base tunes, but I've only had this issue a handful of times so far. If you're looking to spruce up some old speakers (bookshelf speakers work best for this small unit but will handle some large floor-standing speakers (10-inch subwoofer, two mid-woofers, two tweeters per speaker)), then this little unit will handle the load just fine . [Update 11.3. 2017] - I'm a bit more frustrated with this device as it becomes a big problem to restart it. On average, I have to restart this device almost every week. Sometimes this happens twice a week, then it works three or four weeks without a break. Then I have to restart it again. However, it works better than the new $800 system that nobody else is using, because there's Pandora, Revain music without borders, iHeart radio, it's all streaming now.
