They sit in silence and do what they have to do. Time will tell RE: battery life.
Easy to use. Insert the batteries and place them where you are concerned water might collect. One caveat: the design assumes you're looking at a flat surface, which is reasonable 90% of the time. If your application doesn't have a flat surface for the bottom contacts, you should look for another design.
