Just add a 9 volt battery and place under the sink or next to the water heater. It has a loud sound to alert you of a water leak.

Item received on time. Requires HOA to report HVAC/Water Heater overflow. Haven't used it yet, just installed it, easy.

I installed one of these next to the water heater in the closet. A week later I heard a beep when it was leaking. I replaced my water heater before it flooded the house. Now I have one under every sink.

Easy to use. Insert the batteries and place them where you are concerned water might collect. One caveat: the design assumes you're looking at a flat surface, which is reasonable 90% of the time. If your application doesn't have a flat surface for the bottom contacts, you should look for another design.

When installing the battery, make sure the cable isn't under the battery or can't be reassembled. For some reason I couldn't close the device properly. I don't think it interferes with work. On a paper towel, on a metal surface, according to the instructions. Moderately expensive when batteries are included, which should be. I don't know why the battery only lasts a year. I wish you could check (e.g. with a smoke detector) that the battery is working properly.
