The simple wire antenna that came with the Yamaha radio only provided enough signal for nearby stations. Replacing the wire antenna with a dipole resulted in a significant increase in performance. Try to find a way to extend the dipole more or less into a line. The rather long transmission line makes it easier to find the best place for the dipole. It requires a little experimentation with a not very strong signal. Check your radio for the Type F connector required for this antenna.
