Great Price Best Quality

My wife needed an FM antenna for her stereo in the workshop, I remember my father used antennas like this in our houses in the country. As you remember, they do not disappoint with excellent reception and easy-to-conceal design.

Pros
  • Wow
Cons
  • Band

Doesn't work for me.

Fine. I bought 2, I needed one for my stereo and decided to upgrade my home theater FM antenna as well. Failed to tune in to all of my local FM stations. Also too short to reach the ceiling. I connected an old rabbit ear TV antenna and received all my stations.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Disappearing

Ugly but delivers crystal clear sound

Old fashioned design that works. While it might not be the most attractive antenna, reception is amazing and there's no hiss. I live deep in a valley by a creek under the slopes. With this antenna, the radio now sounds like I'm listening to a CD. I recommend it to everyone.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Compatibility

Bad Cost Antennas

If there's a dollar's worth of stuff in this thing, I'd be surprised. You could pay close to $10 for the convenience, but it has other downsides as well. First, the description says the bottom line length is 6 feet. It's just over 4, so you're limited as to where you can place it. The second problem is technical. The jack impedance is 75 ohms and there is no antenna, resulting in losses due to impedance mismatch. I think that's overpriced junk.

Pros
  • Quality Construction
Cons
  • Requires Socket

Great help FM radio when the plug is right

The simple wire antenna that came with the Yamaha radio only provided enough signal for nearby stations. Replacing the wire antenna with a dipole resulted in a significant increase in performance. Try to find a way to extend the dipole more or less into a line. The rather long transmission line makes it easier to find the best place for the dipole. It requires a little experimentation with a not very strong signal. Check your radio for the Type F connector required for this antenna.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Great price

Only slightly better than the antenna that came with the AVR

Only slightly better than the antenna that came with the AVR. And $10 is a lot for a small piece of wire. I'm still having issues with at least one channel not staying in HD all the time, quite often it goes to stereo which is annoying so I'll try something else soon, maybe a good pair of rabbit antenna ears that are also easier to tune into a single station. The fishwire I am considering is too short for low frequencies like 87-90, it's good for higher frequencies like 95-108.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled

Exceeded expectations

I bought these so we can get more NPR stations. I decided to do a test first and if it helps I'll buy a good one and put it inside. I hope I can avoid installing on the roof and running the cable inside. Well I pocketed it and what a surprise. It was everything I needed. We live in the mountains in Z.MD. We don't live on a mountain but our elevation is 700 feet. Above the sea level. The research I did showed that we can hear FM stations up to 50 miles away. VHF signals cannot be received…

Pros
  • Radio antennas
Cons
  • Requires outlet
