This grinder looks and feels good, but doesn't work very well. I've been using cheaper manual coffee grinders for about 2 years and I swap them out about every 6 months because the plastic parts don't hold up. As my third started to wear out, I decided it was time to upgrade it. Since all parts of this coffee grinder were steel, I thought it was built to last. I'll never know because it wasn't made for the show. I make coffee every morning and use a French press. This grinder claims to have multiple settings from coarse to fine, but I was only able to get a fine grind. The tuning doesn't seem to change no matter how I turn the tuning knob. If I twist it too far it will eventually fall apart and be quite difficult to assemble. Another problem: The grinder doesn't hold as many beans as the cheaper grinder and grinding takes three times as long. My old coffee grinder took about 3 minutes to grind 1/2 cup of beans. This grinder holds about 3/8 cup and takes 9-10 minutes to grind. I return this disappointment. It's sad because it looks and feels so good, but it doesn't do the job.
