Review on Rough Country Front Shock 99 04 by Jimmy Koroye

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Rough Country does not include all required parts

Firstly I am very happy with the seller as they responded to my issue and feel they went above and beyond what they really needed to do as a seller (not the manufacturer) of the kit. The kit is of very high quality and the materials are excellent, although as others have pointed out it is incomplete. A bushing is not required on a standard single shock support mount as the factory bolt goes directly into the bushing on the end of the shock. The problem is that this kit does not have a bolt that fits into the top of the shock bushing, the bolt goes through the shock and bushing mount on the two shocks and there is no bushing in the bushing to hold the bolt in place. Installing without a jack is just plain dangerous. Not to mention you'll get a ton of sound. Super Duty shocks only have a bushing on the bottom and when using this kit you will need four correctly sized bushings (two on each side) to install them on the upper brackets. These should have come with the kit from Rough Country as anyone assuming a shock doesn't have these bushings next to each other and any application specific shocks I've seen don't come with them. I ran all over town to find something that worked and ended up going back to the singles setting.

Pros
  • Twin Shock Kits
Cons
  • Was damaged
