My First Smash Book

I am very careful about the size and binding of any book I plan to use as an art magazine. I usually use Moleskine watercolor journals because I know the paper is of high quality to hold all my journals. However, I only have ten pages in my first amazing book and am already looking at my second - I fell in love with it. The paper is high quality and almost every page has a different design. Some themes are more interactive (areas where you can write down what you've seen, heard, or thought about), some are templates to use as a background for your work, and others are just too cool to use. . A pen ran across the page even when lines were repeatedly drawn. I didn't use watercolors on any of the pages (they're already beautiful, seriously), so I can't say how they would hold up. The binding is excellent. I don't normally use spiral mesh as it can get in the way, but so far it hasn't been a problem. You can't bend the book back like most spiral bindings, but I think this will help it hold its shape better. actually made to handle it without getting too unwieldy. I used to have notebooks that went from flat to thick, but there's room in this book for you to make them bigger. The included damper rod is also great. At first I kind of didn't want to use it for fear of wasting it, but the whole point is to use it. The pen writes smoothly and is similar to a felt tip pen in that it is bold but not large and does not bleed through the paper. The glue stick is much smaller than the normal glue stick, but sticks very well.

Pros
  • Book size 7-3/4 x 10-1/4 in.
Cons
  • Not as thick as others
