I have to say I'm quite surprised by this video projector. It's a nice compact size and still projects very brightly without overheating. The people who complain that they need a dark room to see are most video projectors. I used to have a $3000 projector (the first 1080p was released in 2004/2005) and it had to project in the dark for me to see the image. The advantage of this small projector is that it is LED powered so it doesn't get as hot and the expected lamp life is much longer than a traditional projector (only around 500 hours). As you can see in my video I projected the image about 7ft from the wall and got a nice decent image. Don't expect a sharp picture like on a TV, the resolution is a little blurry but that's the downside of any projector. The only thing is that the sound is rather weak and I would advise you to buy desktop speakers for sound. It has a 3.5mm audio output. Or, if you're alone, you can just plug in your headphones. All in all a very good projector. Happy with this purchase.
