I wouldn't call this a moon lamp because it never looks like a moon, but it's a very cool galaxy or planet ball lamp. If you're looking for something that looks like the moon, they're there, but they're not. But if you want to cool down a multicolored lamp that looks like a galaxy when it's off, this is perfect for all ages. Everything in the description is exactly how your 3D night light will look like. You will receive a remote and very simple instruction manual that any child who can read or any adult can understand. the cable they supply to the lamp. In the manual, which I've included pictures of, it says the bottom of the lamp will glow bluish when charging to let you know it's charging. It is also said that the lamp takes two to three hours to be fully charged and once fully charged it will run for 4 to 6 hours. I'm estimating four to six hours depending on whether you just have lower brightness and whether you have flashing or fading features. So if you had a low brightness setting to increase the brightness and just sat on a solid color it would probably take longer. I really like that there is no cord and you can just give it to your family if you want or put it literally anywhere. . The supplied coasters are made of wood and can be painted if desired. But you can also put it on a vase, in the hand of a child's toy or anywhere else in your home. It's not just for kids and it would be a really cool piece to sit on a kitchen counter or even a dining table. I am planning to give this as a gift for Christmas and I think my little girl (8 years old) will freak out and love it. I see her wearing it around the house when she wants to read her favorite book just to have it with her like a soft light. I'm pretty sure it will be a big hit. I also love that once you top it up, you can wrap it in a cool package and give someone a gift that's already included and glowing. You couldn't pre-package it but if you had a gift bag and just put the lamp inside with tissue paper it would make an amazing presentation. I would highly recommend and maybe we could get a second one for her little sister (age 5) once she gets it for Christmas as I have a feeling she will be jealous.
