Good for life, bulletproof reliability

As a former union electrician I can say without a doubt that Square D (manufacturer of this unit) (as well as Allen Bradley) use Cadillac products in their trade. Adjustments and wiring are no problem. Just follow the instructions. The switch can be used for both 240VAC and 120VAC pump systems or used as an accessory when using a relay or contactor. Note: If your wiring is connected to a 120VAC pump, only change the hot wire and straighten the neutral wire or splice it as needed (never change the neutral wire). Also a few interesting points for those setting up a sprinkler system like me, most pumps do not build up enough pressure to use a 40-60 psi switch. Most sprinkler pumps will peak at 40-48 psi regardless of flow rate and will not have enough pressure to turn off the cut-off pressure at the 40-60 psi switch when set to the factory setting. Haven't tried lowering the factory setting yet but based on previous experience with these switches I believe it will go down as you adjust but a 30-50psi switch would be more appropriate for the application. Also interesting is that if you use a pressure switch on a sprinkler system, you MUST have a hydraulic tank. The switch simply toggles on and off quickly when the pressure vessel is not in use at low flow or shutdown. The final point of interest is the low-pressure shutoff feature. When using this switch, if for any reason the pressure drops to approximately 10psi inches below the switch point, the safety lever will function and will need to be reset manually. I personally prefer this feature over the lack of security as it prevents your pump's internal components from catching fire due to a lack of supply water for a variety of reasons. Although I wrote this review for sprinkler applications, the same principles should apply to downhole use. This is a quality switch that will last a lifetime with proper installation and easy setup.
