Okay, let's get down to business. It won't compete with a $100 lighter or knife. But it shouldn't be. This is a $20 lighter and knife combo and at that price this item works. It comes in a nice little decorative box, making it a good gift for a lighter, knife or kite collector. I believe these lighters have a filament inside that causes the flame to change, but that filament eventually burns out and the flame takes on the default color. I didn't see the flame regulator, that's the only thing that could be improved. The use of high quality butane will help this element continue to function properly. I recommend this item.
