I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about. I took it out of a small purse, plugged it into a USB port, and used my password to log into recent installations of Peppermint OS, MX Linux, and Solus. It certainly wasn't the fastest device in the world, and I was 15 feet from my router in the same room with no obstructions, but no driver installation was required. If the use case was HD video or AAA gaming I'd look elsewhere or use Ethernet, but for adding basic wireless capabilities to older hardware this is excellent value.
