I bought one for my elderly mother who is losing her hearing. At first I tried several other models but this was the first model that fit her. So I bought a second one for another room in her house and this unit arrived DOA. Luckily the replacement works perfectly. Problems: 1) There is a volume "wheel" on the handset that moves slightly. This may not seem like a problem to most people, but it is a problem for an elderly person with poor eyesight. Considering my mom doesn't notice if she accidentally turns down the volume while talking on her phone, I've decided to either record it or record it. A wheel with positive "clicks" for volume levels would be better. 2) The actual volume increase occurs when you press the "Boost" button, which you should do every time you answer a call. I suspect the lawyers made that decision. On the positive side she can now hear callers so I'm only keeping one star for annoyance.
