Problem solved! - Dogs

So, new neighbors have moved in with five kids, one of them in the oven, and a long-haired dachshund. Nice quiet people but the dog just "barks all the time" when he hears us outside. It's been about nine weeks and the problem is solved. I installed it over a privacy fence for maximum coverage at 50 feet. The dog has "finally" learned that its barking causes hearing problems. He doesn't like it, but "Hey, I pay my bills and I own my property." Funny too. He starts barking, then suddenly stops and walks away, grumbling about it, and we start giggling. Some suggestions for future buyers: 1. Place the bark deterrent as close to the dog as possible and ensure adequate coverage. If you place it ten feet inside your fence, you will only lose 50 feet of range. Buy more 9V batteries first. I got through six weeks in nine weeks and the antibarker wasn't to blame; I'm just waiting for the stubborn mongrel to make a connection between the unpleasant sound and his barking. 3. Be patient. The longer the battery lasts, the better the dog will be, barking less, for example. Some dogs take longer to realize that their barking is causing auditory irritation. Depending on the size of your yard, you may need more than one to get a cover. When we get to the back he starts barking, but then he's out of range of the anti-barker on the house. Change the battery if it was fairly quiet and the dog suddenly started barking. Changing the battery is also easy.
