Review on ๐Ÿ”Š Fender Rumble 40 v3 Bass Combo Amplifier: Unleash Powerful Bass Tones by David Alvarez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Value for money - AMP is the winner! (Musician Appearance)

I've been playing with this amp for about a year (30+ shows) and this little guy is amazing in terms of tone to weight ratio. For years I played an Ampeg HLF4x10 cabinet with a 400 watt Yorkville Bassmaster head (that tone can rebuild your guts) and I loved it for the sound, but the setup is outrageously heavy and big. Rumble 500 with two 10" speakers (because I like the punch of 10" speakers) but when I went to the music store I only had a 100W Rumble. I gave it a try and played through the amp for almost an hour. (I play G&L L-2000 USA). The amp sounded great. Simply amazing tone, powerful low-end and lots of EQ controls. And it only weighs 22 pounds! So my wife gave it to me for Christmas (but gave it to me earlier because we had gigs and why wait?) I play in a four piece cover band (five now) and it sounds pretty loud. 90% of our indoor venues are bars, restaurants, or social clubs (American Legions, Eagles, etc.) and this amp is more than enough. the amp is fine. I've never had an increase over 25% and the main increase over 50% at any concert. In fact, I can set the main sound's upper limit to about 45% and then regulate the volume with the volume control on the bass itself. You can switch to a distorted channel. I'd say it's pretty downhill, better than a lot of pedals I've tried, but I rarely use it (except Smoke on the Water, but not always, more of a personal choice). is an effects loop but not footswitch controlled (only switching between the main channel and the dirty channel is controlled by a footswitch) and this is the only major drawback of this amp. But for the price, the sound (amazing) and the weight (the box looks empty!) this amp is hard to beat. I've tried small shop Ampeg combos that are comparable (and I love my Ampeg box) but this Fender Rumble sounded noticeably better to me. It's not just about the tone, it's about how the amp really responds to how you play the bass. The band's guitarists are jealous of how light the thing weighs. And it hardly takes up any space in the van when we go to shows. You can play with this amp, no problem. I should add that our band really tries to keep the stage level reasonable. A lot of places and crowds just don't go to the noise wall anymore these days. But if you're playing in a band where your guitars are stacked full or half, this amp can still freeze if you also route it to a speaker system and use the amp itself for monitoring. I really care about my sound and my Ampeg/Yorkville setup is ruining it. I've been playing this rig for many years. The Fender Rumble 100 sounds great. It's very light and small, but packs a solid punch. I also have a 75w Peavy combo (my first amp) with a 12" speaker. It also sounds very good, but weighs almost three times as much and is not as loud. I cannot recommend this amp enough. for your first amp, or you are looking for your next amp and are tired of dealing with a monster setup, buy this as I have been playing live for years. Truth. Note: This amp stopped working towards the end of our last set at the party. We were outside but the amp was in the shadows. I connected my bass to the board and when I finished the show). Fender has a 5 year warranty and the store my wife bought it from has a 2 year warranty on top of that. brand new amp (Fender doesn't repair these amps, they just replace like I'm told) Anyhow, the replacement came 2 days later from FedEx and this little amp is back in business and 4 months later a few years later (about a dozen more gigs and failure of rehearsals) he is still holding on. .a part of me is still wondering if I want even more 500 watts with two 10 inch speakers. But I'm very happy with this little guy. (I've included a photo from our live at the wine festival so you can see I used it outdoors. The amp is on the right side of the drum kit and it looks really nice with the silver speaker grill. Our band is wonderchunk .wonderchunk- dot-com) Thank you for reading. I hope this helps you!
