We selected these boots based on colour, shorter height and Columbia brand expectations of quality. While my teen loves the cropped cut - she could actually wear them to school - these boots didn't meet our expectations initially. The boots are cute but my 10 year old daughter couldn't even put her foot in the tight incredibly tight sock. Crate. I wasn't ready to give up on these boots - they seem well made and go great with her coat - so we put a baseball in the toe box to stretch it and give more headroom. We left them like that for a few weeks and it helped! Now she can easily insert and remove her leg.
