Relaxed fit. Each "AutoEC" filter is 1/8" shorter in height than the OEM filter, resulting in a 1/4" difference when stacked as intended in the car holder. Additionally, the corners are rounded with thin strips of foam, resulting in a noticeable distance between them right at the corner where they meet. Compare to the OEM filter in these pictures. Both of these disadvantages leave enough space for air to circulate, which reduces the efficiency of the filter.
