I have no cooking experience but this is a charming appliance. For the first time in my life I can cook and eat delicious healthy food. The advantage is that it is very easy and quick. I really like it and I wanted you to enjoy it too. It's always nice to spread the good. Be sure to search YouTube for a video showing how to cock things with this steamer. Here is a simple summary: 1- Fill with water. 2- On the first shelf, place food that takes longer to cook (poultry). 3- Add spices and close lid 4- Turn on (timer settings depend on quantity. See the sticker on the stove for an idea). Let's say you cook 2 pounds of chicken breasts then it takes 45 minutes (very well done) 5. Now let's say you also cook 2 pounds of vegetables. You need 15 minutes. Wait 30 minutes, then put the vegetables on the second rack.6. Your dinner will be ready in 45 minutes. A few tips: 1. You can always take the cover off and inspect and put it back on.2. Look for the liquid that collects in the drip tray and make sure it doesn't overflow as it will fall back onto the heating element (then it won't last long)3. I personally collect this liquid and use it as a soap dish. I like it a lot (usually need more spices).4. Be sure to check the water level when tightening and top up with water when the minimum level is reached. It is very convenient to add water through the small opening during cooking (no need to stop or remove food). There is a small window through which you can monitor the water level.5.
