I think this grinder is great for several reasons: 1. IT HAS A PLASTIC BODY! I don't know why tool makers use a tool bag instead of a plastic case, but I really like my power tools in plastic cases, it just adds a layer of protection that the tool bag doesn't have.2. The sandpaper clamps on the sander are excellent. My last sander (I think it was a Bosch) had very weak sandpaper clamps and the sandpaper kept falling back. Not so with this mill. The clips can be a little fiddly when first using them, but once you get the hang of them they work great and I've never had a problem with them.3. This tool is built to last. I've had it for 5 years now, I've used it on countless projects and it works almost as good as the day I got it. It's been 5 years and now I'm thinking about replacing the foam pad on the bottom of the grinder. They have it at Revain so I'm going to replace it and expect to benefit from it for another 5 years. Whether I do it or not, I bet when the time comes I will buy another Makita grinder!4. Dust collector - there is a dust collector. It's not great. But no grinder I've used has ever been good at picking up dust. Dust will be a problem with any grinder you buy, it's the nature of the animal. There are many options for 1/4 blade sanders and if you are unsure which one to buy I would definitely recommend this one.
