PRO:* Modularity. The modular nature of this unit means it's fairly easy to identify and assemble the tool needed for the job. CONS: * Placement of the pump. The pump is located at the bottom of the device. It makes sense since you get more power(?). But it's also impractical because you've got that huge pump sloshing around in the tank. This makes cleaning of knots and crevices very difficult and the force is so great that it is so small that finer sand and sediment are bound to be sucked in and clog the filter prematurely. I think it makes sense to empty the tank. The stand that comes with it, while looking functional, weighs nothing and therefore does not hold the device upright for maximum buoyancy.* Hose. What is the main material? I thought it was a cable duct or something. Why not just add a standard aquarium hose? It looks surprisingly cheap. USES: I tried using this to clean a sand pillow during a cyano fight. I also tried using it to suck out algae during the ugly phase. I've also used it to pump water out of a 400 gallon tank after testing it for leaks. That's all. I will probably never use it again as the pump/nozzle position is too awkward to maneuver.
