Review on Superior Performance Espresso Machine: Gaggia RI9380/46 Classic Pro, Brushed Stainless Steel by Mike Mitchell

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Worked great until it broke after about a month

Reviews have shown this to be a very good and very reliable machine. Okay, yes, but making three espressos a day for just a month is unreliable. Since more than a month has passed I had to contact support/warranty service who are dealing with these issues. They were nice but forced me to open the car to find an obvious problem like a broken wire or something burned. I wasn't much reassured by either the questions or the procedure, especially as I smelled burning electricity around the time it died. I agreed and when nothing "obvious" was seen and pictures were sent to the warranty company they finally said to return it. The exchange process will take place in about a month. I enjoy making my own espresso every day, so this long process is frustrating and frustrating. I hope the new one keeps up and updates it when it does. Because of my newest car I was looking for a reliable one. My old Krups (Semi-Pro 15 bar pump, made in Switzerland) set an incredibly high standard of performance for 20 years, did two to four double shots a day before it had problems, and worked (without steam) for several more years. I ordered a Breville just before Gaggia and Breville arrived with a broken part so they were immediately sent back via Revain. I've been spoiled with easy Revain returns in the past, but buying locally is best for this type of purchase.
