Review on SiriusXM SXSD2 Portable Speaker System by Djuan Thompson

This is a quality product with great sound. Although it just arrived and I've only used it twice, it looks like it's doing its job well. Over the course of several months I researched various "sound boxes" designed for construction sites etc. Most of them had more features than I needed because I just wanted something while working on backyard projects. I already had a Sirius Radio Starmate 8 at home/car and just needed something that would work well with it. I finally came across this device, just what I needed. It makes sense that Sirius Radio would do something similar and I should have known about it. Setup was easy. The small radio "Sirius" fitted in perfectly. I was happy to see that the antenna has a very long cable (25ft?) which gives it flexibility as to where the unit can be used. All I did was get the Sirius radio in place, plug it in, point the antenna south, and I was ready to go. I used some zip ties to secure the transformer block to the back of the unit, leaving only the 3ft jumper cable slack to hold the chunky cable (I tied the transformer to a pole on the back). the back of the unit is designed to wrap around the extra antenna cable, which worked well). I like how the small antenna assembly is held in place by the plastic connector pins on the top of the stereo. The only thing you need to get used to is that the handle does not go fully to the vertical position - this is done so that the antenna unit is not blocked by the handle. Thus, the device is easy to install and has a great sound. The volume is more than can ever be used. As someone pointed out, a treble slider would be a nice addition. Also, I would pay extra for the built in battery as using D cell batteries seems like old fashioned technology these days. The only criticism is the 90-day guarantee. Such a short warranty says little about the manufacturer's confidence in the product. I solved this problem by purchasing a 3 year warranty from a third party.
