Review on πŸ”† Halo RL56 Zigbee Wireless Smart LED Recessed Downlight: Adjustable Color Temperature, 5 in. and 6 in. by Kelly Jones

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Auto-pairs with Echo Plus and changes brightness (dimming), color, and toggles on/off with voice commands

While there are no instructions for drawing and working with the Alexa app, they were easy to set up by auto-pairing with Echo 2nd generation. Plus (the one with the built-in hub), and you can choose the color of the light, the brightness, and turn the light on and off with voice commands. So far I've bought 6 and installed 5 in the hallway and 1 about 25 feet from the other five lights in my kitchen as a test around the corner (through two walls). I have an Echo Dot in this kitchen and another Echo Dot 40 feet from the kitchen and about 65 feet from the first five (and a couple of walls) and I can control all the lights with voice commands in the rooms from each Echo- Control Dot or Plus or the Alexa app when I'm not at home. It is excellent. I've never tried a Philips screen but I have a hard time believing they can do more - in fact I'm now hesitant to try a Philips screen when they do less than that because I have the Echo Plus as a hub instead of the original Philips hub. We had no problem with the outer ring fitting snugly into the drywall on all 6 units we purchased (our original can lights were from c. 1999, if that helps anyone). We also like that this flashlight comes with two types of mounting clips. We removed the default clips and preferred the ones in this image. You remove the center rod (not finished in this picture) and then the glass "swirls" into a recess and can twist out again if you need to remove it. (Left loose, right tight). Can't say enough good things about it. I've only installed a few but will update if anything changes and I'm buying more to replace the aging lights in the kitchen.
