Good smart light: recessed lights

I have several Philips Hue bulbs but their recessed bulbs are expensive. It is great. They are integrated into the Alexa app. Even without a bridge or Halo app, the color temperature can be set with the Alexa app. They work seamlessly with Alexa. If you can replace a lightbulb, you can install it. My only complaint is that they revert to the previous control setting on reset. If you flip the light switch while the light is off, it stays off. You might like that, but I like Philips Hue better…

Pros
  • Very good value for money

I am stuck . lost connection with Alexa

Bought last year to use with Alexa. Setup is relatively easy with a SmartThings hub and a GE Zwave wall dimmer. The app immediately found all 9 of my lights and I renamed each light (A light, B light, C light, etc.). Then I set up lighting schemes (mood lighting, TV lighting, office lighting, etc.). The light can be dimmed with a dimmer built into the wall so I have no idea why some people have pointed out that this is not possible. HERE is the problem, recently my Alexa couldn't turn on the…

If you have an Echo Plus, Alexa will trick you.

I got this bulb to fill an empty can but for a socket in my new apartment. Since this is a Zigbee light with adjustable white balance and I have an Echo Plus I thought this would be perfect. Well damn near. First tip - read the instructions before you start. This makes installation easier if you have never installed a ceiling light before. Installation isn't overly complicated - in fact, it's pretty damn easy if your jar has little clips you can snap the springs to if you know what to look for.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

While there are no instructions for drawing and working with the Alexa app, they were easy to set up by auto-pairing with Echo 2nd generation. Plus (the one with the built-in hub), and you can choose the color of the light, the brightness, and turn the light on and off with voice commands. So far I've bought 6 and installed 5 in the hallway and 1 about 25 feet from the other five lights in my kitchen as a test around the corner (through two walls). I have an Echo Dot in this kitchen and another
