When I first bought these I opened the box and saw all the various little nuts and washers and quickly put everything back in the box . before i lose something They sat there for several months until I finally bought a camper. I drove to the RV dealer expecting that they would pack everything up and make sure the RV is secure but no. They were useless and refused to do anything out of responsibility. So I was 200 miles from home with 4 turnbuckles uninstalled, an RV that bolted to a truck, no tools and no idea what I was doing. I could kiss whoever designed them because this is a super strong product that with a little ingenuity can be assembled without tools! Insert a threaded rod into the top of the turnbuckle, open the handle and insert the square nut, then the rubber washer, then the nyloc nut. Hook the lower end of the threaded rod into the frame-mounted end of the bracket, close the knob at the top to lock the nyloc nut and twist. On my camper/truck combo, I have found that when the handle is closed, the bottom of the hook should just touch the top edge of the bracket to have the correct tension once properly secured.
