Beautifully made lock. Difficult. Smooth mechanism. Flipped the striker - did it before I saw the other reviews, very easy for a swing door. Be careful with the pattern. It does NOT scale properly. I put the padlock on the template and the screw holes and padlock size don't match. The template indicates the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the hole is 2 3/8 inches. However, the size on the template is 2 5/8 inches. Glad I discovered this before I drilled a 1 1/4" hole and ruined the door. That is unacceptable. Here are the minimum instructions: Install in desired location as shown in picture. Drill 3/ 32" holes for 1" impact screws. and 1/16" for 7/8" lock mounting screws. If you are drilling a cylindrical hole in a door, drill a small pilot hole in the door and then drill on each one Side a 1 1/4" hole halfway through the door to reduce chipping... - Yes he has a drawing but damn it a description and a proper template would be better. Returned it. The instructions aren't worth the trouble Installing this thing on a closet swing door with the key on the outside is too much fiddling (especially the strike plate) get a latch catch instead.
