Firewire 400->800 and Apple Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt 2 arrived on time and as described. The Firewire 400->800 adapter is compact and you only need to pair one of three or four adapters together to convert DV tape into digital movies for iMac or cloud storage. Since I have an older and a newer iMac, I already had a few cables with me. First I connected the JVC DV camera with the DV->Firewire 400 cable that came with the camera. Second, I connected the Firewire 400->800 adapter. The seat of the Firewire 400 connector was tight. At first I didn't think it would fit properly, but pressing firmly produced a satisfying click. Finally, the Firewire 400->800 adapter was connected to the Firewire 800->Thunderbolt 2 adapter (also pictured. This was connected to my old iMac. I turned on the camera, inserted the tape, and launched iMovie on the iMac. With "File">"Import" in iMovie, a new window opened showing my JVC GR-DVL510U camera. iMovie provides all the controls for the camera. General setup 10 minutes. NOTE: Real-time conversion. All conversions worked perfectly with the converter!
