Happy at Half Price: Rugs

These rugs really exceeded my expectations. I have Weathertech (WT) floor mats in my wife's Durango 13 but decided to try MAXLINER (ML) in my Durango 14. The only difference between the cars is that the 13 has a bench seat in the second row, the 14 has a full console in the second row. In terms of plastic quality, the WT might be a bit thicker, but both brands are pretty heavy and grippy enough. None of them felt light, cheap, or slippery. FRONT ROW - The WTs are very tight around the edges and have no camber at the top so they lie very flat around the perimeter. They also have holes for factory hooks to hold the rug in place. Quality design and fit. The ML has a crease around the top of the front mats, and there are a few spots where there is a small gap between the top of the mat and the center lip of the gearbox. It's very readable; The slight gap did not affect use and may go away over time as I only had them for a few days and it was cold. They have an edge over the factory hook but no hook holes. They're still a very snug fit and the lack of hook holes prevent liquids from seeping through. The WT mount on each side is good, but the center lip space is VERY high. I was disappointed with the fit as it is an expensive option. It also starts to curl up a bit on the outside edges after running for about a year. The ML actually had to be trimmed around the console a bit to fit, but it was very easy with a sharp razor. After a little trimming, it fits better than WT. Time will tell if the edges curl like the WT, again I've only had the ML for a few days. THIRD ROW - Both brands seem to go well together without much difference. Finally, is WT worth the extra $100? I'll let you decide how much $100 means to you. In my case I made a deal with a Revain store and received an open set worth 143ML which was in brand new condition. WT cost $280. I take my mats at 1/2 price and go there and am very satisfied!
