Factory temperature readings were inaccurate. But well, it has a calibration nut designed to fix this kind of problem. But if you use a calibration nut to set accuracy at say 70 degrees Celsius, it won't be accurate at lower temperatures like 40 degrees Celsius. I've since replaced it with the Rhino Coffee Gear equivalent and it's been more accurate. from the box.
