Description of Multitool OPINEL №10 Carbon Beech (113100) wood

To create Opinel blades, XC90 steel is used. A blade made of this metal is easy to sharpen and holds an edge well, but is extremely sensitive to a humid environment.\nDespite the use of another metal, the Opinel No. 10 blade has a standard shape and dimensions, and the only external difference from the stainless steel version is the “carbone” mark.\ nThe handle of this knife, like most representatives of the Natural line, is made of beech, has a slightly curved shape with an extended end. It is this shape that allows you to comfortably hold the knife during operation, even with gloves.\nFor the most comfortable and safe use, the Opinel No. 10 knife is equipped with a virobloc lock. This lock is a patented development of Opinel and has been installed on all models of folding knives for more than 50 years.\nFeatures:\nfoldable design\ntotal length of the open knife - 230 mm\nblade length - 100 mm\nblade is made of high-carbon steel XC90\nsteel hardness 59 HRC\nhandle made of beech\ntotal weight - 68g

A wonderful product, it's nice to use.

The knife cuts great, very sharp, I like it. I am constantly trying to go pitting, a regular eraser helps. Comfortable wooden handle, in my hand lies perfectly, it is pleasant to cut them. Sharpening keeps razor for a very long time.

Pros
  • One of the best knives in terms of cut quality.
Cons
  • As has been said many times before, it needs maintenance. Google how to care for it and trust me it's worth the effort.

The purchase is a failure, very dissatisfied.

The knife is positioned as a tourist knife, for this I took it. But in fact it is very gentle, it starts to rust and the handle immediately swells, which is very difficult to fold and unfold.

Pros
  • The knife is sharp. Nice to hold in your hand
Cons
  • After the first use, it became covered with spots and began to close poorly. Can only open with pliers

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

Pros: Everything, very sharp, folding, lock, simple as five kopecks and a working option for everything Its cons: well, perhaps it rusts, but this is a minus of any hard metals, soft stainless steel, so I didn’t take it from stainless steel, but took this one because it’s harder, more reliable

Wonderful quality, one hundred percent satisfied!

The knife is a fairly popular brand, I heard a lot about it, which played a key role in choosing. I bought the knife a month ago, I rarely use it, but from the time that I used it, I can see that it is very sharp and a good helper for any minor issues. I would also like to note the low price for a quality French knife.

I have had these knives of all sizes and steels for over 40 years. I always disassemble the knives, sanding the sharp edges on the handle. Then, I either paint or impregnate with oil, or with a solution of the prepared epoxy resin in acetone, depending on the purpose of use. I polish INOX blades, etch CARBON with citric acid. This is a kind of regular meditation :) "LOVE" ! At home, in the kitchen, in a separate stand for knives, there are OPINEL No. 10 - two No. 12 - two, filet No. 15 - two…

Pros
  • OPINEL is included in the list of the hundred best products made by mankind in history. Of the advantages . THIS IS A REAL KNIFE. Not pink, not blue. Just a knife. He cuts and cuts and cuts! :) A penny price. Cuts even when the edge is slightly wrinkled. For a 2022 person, it is important that you can show your creative inclinations. You can tune the knife . at least cover it with gold leaf!
Cons
  • For such a combination of price, simplicity of design and mass quality, it is pointless to look for shortcomings. They got very good! Perfectly cuts even with a "clogged" edge! You can edit once a year!

Exactly as promised by the manufacturer, high quality.

Not just a good knife, but a VERY GOOD knife. I am engaged in wood carving - accordingly, there is no shortage of cutting tools, including knives (of various shapes and sizes). But . These are all FIXES, often very highly specialized due to the form . Sometimes there is a need to work outside the workshop . Opinel is the only one of the SKladnikov who is really comfortable to work with. It is universal in shape, with proper sharpening it gives a very clean and thin cut. If you don’t dig sand…

Pros
  • Quality steel, good thin cut, comfortable wooden handle.
Cons
  • None))

Initially, when I bought this knife, I understood that it would be necessary to make some efforts to bring it to mind. The handle is made entirely of wood, therefore, of course, it is very dependent on moisture. YouTube advises to boil it in linseed oil - and did so - the result is impressive, the knife is more than a year old, it does not work. The blade itself was left overnight in a solution of citric acid, now the blade is even black, it is not afraid of water, it does not rust from food…

Pros
  • Incredibly sharp.
Cons
  • Requires care.

A valuable purchase, some advantages!

An excellent knife if handled properly. The blade was treated with ferric chloride, the handle with linseed oil, and now I have an excellent cutting knife that is not afraid of moisture and keeps sharpening for an extremely long time. You can google about ferric chloride, you can replace it with citric acid or Coca-Cola, but please do not forget to cover the RK with something during pickling, otherwise it may “eat” a little in the process. The knife is excellent, I recommend to buy!

Pros
  • Great, incredibly sharp knife!
Cons
  • Requires refinement if you are going to work with them on products.

The perfect product for any user!

I have always loved knives with a wooden handle, especially folding ones. The brand has been heard for a long time, but this is my first knife of this brand. For a long time I chose between carbon and stainless steel, but still carbon hooked more. I understood that caring for him would be much more scrupulous, but in my opinion it's worth it. The knife is very sharp and durable, I was satisfied with the build quality and steel.

Pros
  • quality
Cons
  • No

The right product for me, there were no problems.

I took the knife as a gift. The blade size of 10 cm is optimal for a pocket knife. When I received the knife, I was surprised and disappointed. This is how it was necessary to pack the knife, what would be the memory of the blister pack. Because of this, in one place the blister even cracked. But since I gave the knife to my son, I didn’t bother with it and take pictures of the problem. The son was delighted with the gift. And so - Opinel N10 is Old School Classic!

Pros
  • France. Nice sharpening out of the box. Perfect size for a pocket knife. Nice wooden handle.
Cons
  • Poor packaging: the blister was dented.
