I have this version and I'm quite happy with its functionality. It sits more or less firmly in the CD slot of my Audi Allroad, whose CD changer I never use. This Koomus comes with three sets of washers of different thicknesses to fit CD slot holes of different heights. I've traveled with it once and installed it in a Toyota minivan and the fit was noticeably looser, despite the mortise mechanism that opens to fill the available space. I didn't bring any other pad sizes and I'm not criticizing that, just pointing out that there are different sizes of cars that will fit. quite wide and also somewhat thick. All of this seems redundant, especially considering the relatively slim dimensions of the updated model of this product. That extra size doesn't affect usability much - in fact, the mount is fairly stable and quiet in use - but it's a fairly large piece to stash on the center console or pack in your carry-on. bag every now and then. The clip that holds the phone is secure, but after a little practice it's easy to use with one hand. The clip is small enough that I can slip my Motorola Turbo in without accidentally pressing the buttons. The rotating ball on the back makes it very easy to switch from portrait to landscape without having to tighten or loosen any clamps. However, the phone never bounces, spins or falls over no matter how bumpy the ride gets. The idea of putting a phone holder in a CD slot seemed crazy just a year ago, but times have changed and since March I've been using my CD player with this machine. THE. That's not to say you can't play CDs and use the Koomus CD player mount, but I don't think you'll enjoy pulling it out of its slot on a regular basis. So if you're still stuck with your drives, keep this in mind. But if you're tired of ugly, wobbly suction cup mounts and annoyed with phone mounts with air vents, this mount could be for you.
