So I bought it knowing it would only work for certain games but hoping for something that would make using the 3DS more convenient. It's easier to hold, but it adds bulk to the system, and while the Pro's round pad doesn't weigh much, you'll feel the difference by holding the 3DS when it's attached. I also thought (wrongly) that since the R button is now in an awkward position, the system would recognize the Circle Pad Pro and make the R button on the Circle Pad Pro the R button by default, but that's not the case . If the game itself doesn't recognize the Circle Pad Pro, you still have to use the standard R button on the 3DS, which is now in a less convenient spot. I couldn't find a setting in the 3DS menu that would allow the 3DS itself to recognize the Circle Pad Pro. All in all, it's a nice accessory that makes the 3DS more user-friendly, but the complete lack of support for other games, even just the lack of R key remapping, makes it impractical.
