Obviously I didn't read the fine print because I thought my kit would have caterpillars in them, although I had to make them up later. Spooky scary stuff is honestly not my forte, but my kids loved it. I wish the guide was more understandable and kid-friendly for us newbies. I still have a habitat, but I think I will do without butterflies this year. On the other hand, all of our caterpillars have turned into butterflies! We even had one that obviously wanted to be our pet - he refused to leave his habitat several times before finally flying free.
